133: Barrel Assembly

Non-linear stress analysis of a barrel assembly. Two analyses were conducted, one analysis being a static analysis, the other transient. A 2D axisymmetric model was used to represent the assembly. The load for the transient analysis consisted of a pressure load history. The maximum stress and the maximum radial gap reported from the analysis were very similar in both analyses, indicating in this circumstance, a static analysis was adequate.
